In May this year, Tangneng Translation successfully won the bid to become a translation supplier for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) through proactive preparation and outstanding performance, providing subsequent translation service support.
The main content of this translation project involves meeting materials for UNHCR’s Humanitarian Negotiation seminar held in June, with the language requirement being English-to-Burmese translation.

On May 23 local time, UNHCR cited the latest data showing that over 100 million people worldwide are currently displaced due to conflicts, violence, and other reasons—a record number that should never have been set. The report notes that since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, over 6.5 million refugees have fled Ukraine, making it the largest refugee wave experienced by European countries this century. Refugees face severe challenges during their escape, such as shortages of basic necessities and the Omicron variant.
UNHCR is coordinating responses with other UN agencies and non-governmental organizations, providing not only shelter, blankets, warm clothing, and sleeping bags for vulnerable groups—especially women and children—but also assistance in protection, registration, reception coordination, emergency relief, and cash aid. It also works with partners to provide legal counseling and psychological support.
