The 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE), themed "Sharing the Future in the New Era," was held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from November 5 to 10, 2023. With experience serving multiple previous editions, Tangneng Translation once again supported the event as a translation service provider.
As the world’s first national-level expo themed on imports, the CIIE has achieved positive results in international procurement, investment promotion, cultural exchanges, and open cooperation, becoming an important window for China’s opening-up. The 6th CIIE featured 69 countries and 3 international organizations in the National Exhibition, covering developed, developing, and least-developed countries, including 64 Belt and Road Initiative partner nations.
Statistics show that over the past five editions, more than 2,000 representative new product launches have been showcased, with a cumulative intended transaction volume of nearly $350 billion. As a highlight of the CIIE, the Innovation Incubation Zone covered industries such as smart wearables, high-tech cosmetics, medical devices, new energy vehicles, and industrial equipment. Leveraging the "CIIE momentum," many high-tech new products made their global, Asian, or Chinese debuts here.
In previous years, Tangneng Translation provided on-site business escort interpretation, simultaneous interpretation, and shorthand services for multiple major CIIE conferences in languages including Chinese-English, Chinese-Japanese, and Chinese-Russian. For this year’s expo, Tangneng provided multi-day simultaneous interpretation equipment services for conferences. Given the high-level nature of the meetings and strong on-site signal interference, Tangneng’s staff worked overtime to enter the venue five days in advance for setup and coordinated with official equipment debugging daily. During this period, they even conducted fire tests on the materials of the interpretation booths to ensure fire resistance, all to comprehensively meet client needs in every detail.
