Founded in 1913, ALDI is Germany’s largest supermarket chain. Tangneng Translation began collaborating with ALDI when it first entered the Chinese market, providing Chinese-foreign written translation projects, which have received multiple praises from the client.

After more than 100 years of development, ALDI now has over 10,000 stores in more than 10 countries worldwide, becoming a globally renowned and highly recognized retail brand. ALDI first appeared in the Chinese market in mid-2017, offering a range of imported products to Chinese consumers through its Tmall flagship store.

Since the opening of its first pilot stores in China in 2019, ALDI has continuously deepened its presence in the Chinese market. The number of stores in Shanghai has now increased to 24. From a slightly refined foreign food community supermarket with an imported vibe, ALDI has evolved into a community supermarket filled with fresh local products at affordable prices, expanded fresh food sales areas, and the warm aroma of prepared meals. Not only in China, ALDI has also become more high-profile in the UK market. This year, ALDI UK’s Christmas advertisement ranked first of the year, alongside Coca-Cola, Lidl, and M&S; ALDI even placed its logo on luxury Bentley cars, picking up customers outside London’s luxury stores to take them to its own stores...

ALDI’s translation projects mainly focus on Chinese-English translation and German-Chinese translation, but also include other minor languages such as Korean, Japanese, French, and Italian. The types of documents involved include product information, training materials, and legal documents. Tangneng provides one-stop document localization services including translation and typesetting. Through nearly five years of cooperation, Tangneng Translation has met the client’s requirements for translation quality and timeliness, gaining recognition from the client.

Under the influence of the pandemic, new trends have emerged in the global retail industry, with innovative retail business models such as live-streaming e-commerce, fresh produce e-commerce, and community group buying developing rapidly. Tangneng Translation will continue to excel in its language services and assist ALDI in expanding its presence in the Chinese market.
