From November 5th to 10th, the 4th China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). With service experience in two previous editions, Tangneng Translation was honored to once again serve as a translation service provider for this grand event.
As the world’s first national-level expo themed on imports, CIIE is hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, and organized by the China International Import Expo Bureau and the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). It has been successfully held for three consecutive years.
Expo Highlights
This year’s CIIE attracted over 2,900 exhibitors, adhering to the theme of "New Era, Shared Future." It comprised several sections: the Enterprise Commercial Exhibition, Hongqiao International Economic Forum, National Comprehensive Exhibition, and professional supporting events.
The Enterprise Commercial Exhibition of the 4th CIIE was divided into six major zones: Food and Agricultural Products, Automobiles, Technical Equipment, Consumer Goods, Medical Devices and Healthcare, and Trade in Services. Special sub-zones were set up for dairy products, agricultural products, smart mobility, rehabilitation and elderly care, biomedicine, and innovation incubation. More than 420 new products, technologies, and services made their debut, with new energy exhibits being a major highlight.
China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) industry has shown strong momentum, ranking first in global production and sales for six consecutive years, accounting for over 40% of the global market share. Wang Bin, Deputy Director of the Department of Market Operation and Consumption Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce, stated at the China Automotive Industry Development Forum: "In the next step, the Ministry of Commerce will accelerate the establishment of a new development pattern for the automotive market featuring tiered consumption, efficient utilization, and green circulation, further promoting high-quality development of the entire automotive industry chain."

During the expo, Tangneng Translation provided interpretation and stenography services for forums including the China Automotive Industry Development Forum and the China Baowu Group Procurement Centralized Signing Ceremony International Forum on Green and Low-Carbon Development of Iron and Steel Metallurgy. At the international procurement signing ceremony, China Baowu signed strategic cooperation agreements with global supply chain partners such as ABB (China) and SMS Group, covering intelligent equipment and material procurement for China Baowu’s subsidiaries, green metallurgy and smart manufacturing projects, and "Belt and Road" mineral resource procurement projects (e.g., iron ore and manganese ore).
