On November 9, 2019, the "70 Years of Translation in New China Forum" and 2019 China Translation Association Annual Conference were held in Beijing. Ms. Zhou Xiaolin from Tangneng Translation's Beijing branch represented the company at the conference and also participated in the Fourth Meeting of the Seventh Council of TAC on November 8 as a council member.

The TAC Annual Conference is the premier annual event in China's translation industry. Over 900 representatives from multinational corporations, universities, research institutions and industry organizations across more than ten countries and regions attended the conference. This year's theme was "70 Years of Endeavor: Upholding Principles While Pursuing Innovation for Development".

For Tangneng Translation, this conference was exceptionally significant, marked by three major achievements:

First, the industry standard "Guidelines for Translation Service Procurement - Part 2: Interpretation" co-drafted by Tangneng Translation was officially released. This document represents the collective efforts of project teams, expert panels and reviewers. Other important releases included:

"Handbook for Translating Chinese Political Discourse" (trial version)

"2019 China Language Service Industry Development Report"

"Translators' Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct"

"Training Requirements for Translation Services"

Second, Ms. Zhou Xiaolin from Tangneng Translation delivered a speech at the "Best Practices in Language Service Business Management" sub-forum on November 10 and received an award certificate. Two of Tangneng Translation's submissions were awarded Third Prize in the 2019 TAC Translation Service Committee Best Practices Essay Competition:

"How Product Development Should Start from Client Needs - A Case Study of 'Marketing Communication Translation'"

"How to Customize Translation Solutions for Clients?"

Mr. Wang Gangyi, Deputy Director of the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, commented that among the three business management sub-forums at this year's conference, this one was particularly distinctive and significant. He noted that some insights came from frontline employees, emphasizing that valuable contributions come not only from leadership but from every staff member. He therefore encouraged translation companies to establish mechanisms that incentivize all employees to share their expertise.

Third, Tangneng Translation signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shanghai Yiniu Technology, a remote simultaneous interpretation technology company, to jointly contribute to the further development of simultaneous interpretation technology as an industry service provider.

Through this conference, Tangneng Translation gained valuable industry insights and trends. Looking ahead, we will work with our peers to promote principle-based innovation in the translation and language services industry, enhance international language service cooperation and exchange, and jointly create a brighter future for the translation profession.
