Due to the needs of program production, China Media Group (CMG) publicly invited bids from relevant translation leasing and program production companies nationwide to select shortlisted suppliers. In July 2020, after comprehensive evaluation, Tangneng Translation officially won the bid for the "Program Commissioned Translation and Production Service Shortlist Project" by the Financial Bureau of China Media Group.
The project consists of 5 packages with a duration of 3 years. Tangneng Translation stood out among 19 competing peers and successfully won the bid for the film and television translation and production of abridged subtitle-version documentaries and feature films.
China Media Group (CMG) was established in March 2018 through the merger of the former Central Television (CCTV), China Global Television Network (CGTN), the former Central People's Broadcasting Station, and the former China Radio International. It is led by the Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee. Domestically, it retains its original call signs, while internationally, it uses the unified call sign "Voice of China."
Last year, CMG continued its reform efforts, successively establishing the Ethnic Language Programs Center, Sports and Youth Programs Center, Innovation and Development Research Center, Technology Bureau, International Communication Planning Bureau, and Film and Television Translation and Production Center. It also launched the CCTV-7 National Defense and Military Channel and established a General Manager's Office and Financial Bureau for overall planning and backup support.

From realistic theme dramas such as Life Revelation, Feathers Fly to the Sky, A Small Separation, and No Great Turbulence in Beiping, to ancient costume dramas reflecting Chinese traditional culture like Nirvana in Fire, Empresses in the Palace, and The Longest Day in Chang'an, as well as domestic films like Wolf Warriors and The Wandering Earth, these works have found corresponding audiences overseas. Overseas streaming platforms and television stations have gradually increased their acquisition of Chinese TV dramas, and the export of film and television works has become quite large-scale.
